Nutrient Targets

A Nutrient Target is a set of desired final concentrations for the nutrients in your mixture. The unit for the target is always parts per million (ppm).

Why are Nutrient Targets Important?

Nutrient targets are the foundation of a successful mixture. They are your goal, and the optimization engine will do its best to reach them. By defining a clear target, you can ensure that your plants are getting the precise nutrition they need.

Different plants, and even different growth stages of the same plant, have different ideal nutrient requirements. You can create different nutrient targets for each of these scenarios.

Creating a Nutrient Target

You can create a nutrient target in two ways:

  1. From the Nutrient Targets Page: You can create a standalone nutrient target that can be reused across multiple mixtures.
  2. From the Mixture Editor: You can create a nutrient target that is specific to a single mixture.

To create a nutrient target, you simply need to give it a name and then fill in the desired ppm values for each nutrient.

Using a Nutrient Target in a Mixture

When you create a Mixture, you can either create a new nutrient target for it or select one of your pre-saved targets. This allows you to quickly apply a known good nutrient profile to a new mixture.

Once a nutrient target is associated with a mixture, the optimization engine will use it as the goal when calculating the substance amounts.

By creating a library of well-defined nutrient targets, you can streamline your workflow and ensure consistency across all of your grows.
