Nutrient Targets

Nutrient Targets are the "goal" for your hydroponic solution. They define the exact PPM (parts per million) concentrations of each essential element that you want to achieve in your final mixture.

Nutrient Targets Overview

Why Use Nutrient Targets?

  • Precision: Instead of just following a bottle's "ml per gallon" instructions, you can target specific elemental levels optimized for your crop.
  • Consistency: Save your successful profiles and reuse them across different grows to ensure repeatable results.
  • Optimization: The Hydro-Calc optimization engine uses your Nutrient Target as the mathematical goal, adjusting substance amounts to match it as closely as possible.

Creating a Nutrient Target

To create a new nutrient target:

  1. Navigate to the Nutrient Targets page.
  2. Click the "Create New Nutrient Target" button in the toolbar.

New Nutrient Target

  1. Give the target a name and description, then fill in the desired PPM values for each nutrient.
  2. Click "Save".

Using a Nutrient Target in a Mixture

When you create or edit a mixture, you'll select a nutrient target. The optimization engine will then use this target to calculate the exact amount of each substance you need to add to your water to reach those PPM levels.

Nutrient Target Selection

By defining and using nutrient targets, you can take full control of your plant nutrition and achieve better, more predictable results.
